Decisions? Decisions?

Life is full of decisions

What time shall I get out of bed in the morning?  What shall I have for dinner? What Netflix series shall I watch next? And then the never-ending stream of decisions at work and home and with family and friends.

How do you make decisions? Big decisions that matter?

Do you ever think about ‘consulting’? Consulting? Consulting who? You may ask…

When a frustrating or difficult situation pops up in our lives, we will often roll the dice and have a chat here or there with a few close people and off we go. This can be helpful and instructive.  However, I am talking about intentional consultation … with God.

That’s what Psalms 37:5 says

“Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass”

What a promise to take hold of today! Grasp with both hands and apply to every moment as you develop your relationship with God.

Big money decision? – Commit it to God

Is this my future spouse? – Commit it to God

Should I step out into a business? – Commit it to God.

The same rings true for every challenge you or I face.

Give your anxieties, fears & apprehensions to God and trust him. We should take much security and boldness from Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.”

It’s not he might, maybe, or on occasions . . . HE WILL!

Trust God before you start, commit your decision and thoughts to God. Ask for help and involve him in the huge challenges and the miniscule day to days. I believe by doing so you will see your relationship grow with the Lord and breakthroughs to goals and dreams being achieved because you committed your thoughts and choices to God.

Start with a simple prayer like “Lord I am thinking about doing….” “Please direct me to the best outcome.”

Consistency is the key to building good godly habits as each day in every decision we commit it to God. Don’t hesitate….. start right now!
